Bina007 is once again joined by Matthieu for a DVD Commentary of The Fellowship of the Ring. This is the second in a two part podcast and will cover disc two of the Extended Edition. The podcast will contain spoilers for all of Tolkien’s oeuvre as well occasional references to A Song of Ice and Fire.

  1. The Two Tower is my favourite one as well! 🙂

    It’s the film where they got the balance between adventure and war just right. It’s leaner, it’s more briskly paced, it starts dark and ends darker. Plus, it contains the tragic arc of Smeagol, and the best battle sequence of the trilogy in Helm’s Deep.

  2. Good point on the balance – and I absolutely agree about Helm’s Deep. Of all the battles in history I’d love to have been at it’s probably 1) Waterloo 2) Austerlitz 3) Helm’s Deep. Do you want to come and chat for Part 2 of Two Towers?
